Layckan is a Legal Academic and an admitted Attorney of the High Court. During her years in practice, Layckan worked in general litigation with her primary focus being family law, Layckan also amassed experience in tax and commercial law.
Layckan, first started her journey as a Legal Academic when she held the position of a research assistant in the Mercantile Law Department at the University of Stellenbosch. Layckan was later appointed as a junior lecturer of Entrepreneurial Law at the University of Stellenbosch.
Since then, Layckan has also gained local and international experience in business development within the sporting industry and is currently studying towards her LLD in Sports Law at the University of Stellenbosch. Layckan has a keen interest in Sports, Media and Entertainment law, which has become her main area of practice.
